Are You Too Blessed to Be Stressed?
Mood:
irritated
Today I read the entire books of II John and III John. Afterwards, I flipped back to Jeremiah Chapter 20 and read it too. Then I penned in my journal, "To live is to love like Jesus; to imitate Him in love and in the truth of His Word." I know without a shadow of doubt that I really love God with every fiber of my being; and I KNOW He really really loves me too. But over the last few weeks, my love walk has been severely tested. You've heard the saying, "I'm too blessed to be stressed." That's what I thought until we started some home renovations a few weeks ago. Seeing the finished product completed in a professional and efficient manner is my goal. However, this wasn't the case. Cluttered furniture, piles of wooded and tiled debris were strewn idly on the floors well beyond the promised deadline. My peace was shattered, and my stress levels soared through the roof. Needless to say, my love walk...well, for a minute it walked too. But I was reminded to re-read I Corinthians 13 (aka) "The love chapter" which is one of my favorite chapters. So what lessons did I learned from all of this?
(1) I had allowed the enemy to divert my full attention on the issues with the housing renovations that I neglected to invoke these principles I had learned of walking in love, no matter what. (2) I was too busy focusing on the renovations to my brick and mortar house that the love foundation from my spiritual house got shaky and started unraveling from the core. I wish I could tell you that the home renovations are completed and everything is hunky-dory, but not so. Finally, with my finite mind, I cannot comprehend the vastness of God's love for me. But, if I am to imitate Him in love and in the truth of His Word, I have to love unconditionally like Him...and nothing else matters.
